Vulnerable Adults Day
The Church has a unique role in its involvement with vulnerable adults. We may have contact with vulnerable adults through the week by week ministry of the church, through specific activities. In many cases parish visitors will see people in their own homes and many churches have an active ministry in care homes. In many cases we may be the only independent people with whom vulnerable adults have contact. It is important that we are both aware of how to behave appropriately and signs to look out for that may indicate a person is experiencing abuse.
Wednesday 18th April 9.45am – 4pm at Old Alresford Place
Monday 5th Nov 9.45am – 4pm at Old Alresford Place
Domestic Abuse Day
Domestic Abuse is far more prevalent than we may realise, as indicated by statistics. There is much written in both the Christian and secular press that suggests that Christian theology and church teaching has colluded with violence against women and children. What would you do if someone came to see you about an issue of domestic abuse? Domestic Violence does happen today? It is perpetrated and experienced by members of our churches. The first step is to be informed.
Wednesday 9th May 9.45am – 4pm at Old Alresford Place
