Notice of Election to Synodical Committees 2024

Elections will take place for the following, with new committee members’ term of office starting from 1 January 2025:

• Chair of The House of Clergy
• Chair of The House of Laity
• Bishop’s Council & Standing Committee
• Vacancy In See Committee
• Diocesan Mission and Ministry Council

For the above, with the exception of Vacancy in See Committee, the electorate and eligible candidates are current members of Diocesan Synod. For the Vacancy in See Committee current members of Diocesan Synod are the electorate but any clergy person being beneficed in the diocese or licensed under the seal by the bishop of the diocese, and any communicant lay persons whose names are on the electoral roll of a parish in the diocese may stand for election.

There will also be the opportunity for members of diocesan synod to volunteer to serve as synod representatives the following bodies (with final membership being approved by Bishops’ Council). There will be a survey to members later in the year to express interest but please contact Cathy Laird in the meantime if you would like to have an informal discussion about serving on any of the committees below.

• Racial Justice Forum
• Property Working Group
• Independent Safeguarding Panel
• DAC (Diocesan Advisory Committee)
