The Minor Repairs and Improvements Grant is currently OPEN for applications
Aimed at providing small grants to help with projects that focus on urgent repairs and small-scale improvements, applications for the Minor Repairs and Improvements (MR&I) Fund can be submitted for projects totalling up to £20,000. Amounts will be awarded based on deprivation and other factors.

This round will close for applications on 31st October 2025. Applications will then be considered and offers will follow in due course.
This is the third round of MR&I funding. To date, 57 churches across the Diocese have received a combined £63,000 in funding to support essential minor works to their buildings.

The criteria for application is that the total cost of your project must be less than £20,000. This is to ensure that funding is allocated to projects that tackle minor works. Please ensure that you only apply for projects that meet this criteria.
You can apply for any amount within the cost of your project.
No, this grant can only be granted to projects that haven’t started yet. Only future projects are eligible to be considered for this grant.
This funding is made retrospectively. If you are successful in your application and are made a grant offer, you will be able to claim the amount awarded once the project is completed. You will need to provide proof of project completion in order to receive the funds.
If you are successful in your application and are made a grant offer, you must claim the funding within 12 months of the offer date. As the funding is granted retrospectively, this means your project must also be completed within 12 months of the offer date.
Please ensure you apply for projects that will realistically be carried out and completed within the next 12 months.
