Event Description
Did you know that there likely to be Gypsy or settled Roma people living in or near in your parish? Communities who are often overlooked, unseen and unheard.
Our diocese is committed to growing a church where Gypsy, Roma, and Traveller communities are genuinely welcomed, respected and valued.
We believe this work should be based on listening, learning and working in partnership with GRT communities and people who want to be involved.
As a first step, Bishop Philip will be hosting a gathering which will bring together people to share experiences, to listen to each other and to explore how the Diocese can support these communities.
You are warmly invited to be part of the gathering on 11 May 2026. If you are a member of a Gypsy, Roma or Traveller community please do come and help us to shape our work and ministry by sharing your experiences and challenging the ways we may think about your communities and how you want to be welcomed and valued.
If you are involved in pastoral care and social justice or want to help to tackle the marginalisation faced by GRT Communities this gathering is for you too. Come and join us and help to challenge prejudice and strengthen our ministry.
If you are interested in coming along, or have any questions about the event, please email Revd Lisa Thomas at: ChaplaincyLead@winchester.anglican.org
