Raising Awareness of Domestic Abuse (Formerly S3)

Raising Awareness of Domestic Abuse (Formerly S3)

This course is suitable for all those who may come across issues of domestic abuse as part of their day-to-day role. The course explores what domestic abuse is and who is affected. Issues of power and control are discussed, framed around the legal requirement to report matters of suspected coercion and control. Reporting procedures are examined so that participants have a clear understanding of their role. Please see the training matrix for further details of roles where this training is required or advisable (including Churchwardens, PCC Members, Members of the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisory Panel, Prayer Ministry Team and more).

This course is accessed online, through the Church of England Training Portal and takes approximately 60 to 90 minutes to complete. The sessions can be paused at any time. There is an easy test at the end. Participants should have completed Basic Awareness and Foundation training before completing this course. For further information, please email the Safeguarding Team.

If you have safeguarding concerns about the welfare of a child, young person or an adult, please email the Diocesan Safeguarding Team for advice and support.
