Community Minister – Christ Church Chineham
Chineham
Part Time
Closing Date: 17th April 2024
Interview Dates: April 2024
The family of Christ Church Chineham (CCC) is pretty special. They don’t claim to be perfect of course, but they’ve emerged from the pandemic years in good health, and are growing numerically, in diversity and love for one another and the local community.
As well as being a church, CCC also run Chineham’s main Community Centre, and have hundreds of locals visiting each week for community or church-run groups. CCC feel that God has been very good to their church, and they have many more opportunities to reach out with the Gospel good news that they can take advantage of. They therefore wish to appoint an assistant Minister to support their Lead Minister, to help CCC develop their ministry both internally and within the wider community. They want to grow as disciples in all of life, to release more of their existing gifts into ministry, and to share Jesus more widely.
CCC are asking God to lead them to men or women who will help them make disciples and cultivate a loving and spiritually mature network of relationships and community, embracing the evangelical, ecumenical and informal DNA of CCC. Particular responsibilities and titles aren’t as important to them as discovering how the team can together best use their God-given gifts and abilities to join in God’s work of building His Kingdom. But the purpose of the role is clear:
- To help grow the internal and external communities of CCC, strengthening its mission and ministry, working collaboratively with the Lead Minister and with other Ministry Leaders and staff
- To be part of the Leadership Team helping discern what God wants the church to focus on, and ready to respond in prayer and faith.
CCC are finalising details for this role for 20-25 hours/week. The job description can be found here: Community Minister Job Description. The salary will be in the usual range for ministers, and CCC have a contributory pension scheme. You will need to work some evenings, weekends and public holidays.
