Youth & Children’s Lead – Parish of Sholing

This is an exciting role overseeing the youth and children’s work within the Parish of Sholing – leading the development of their work, providing support to their wonderful team of volunteers, and helping nurture creative opportunities for people to explore faith and spirituality.

This is a full-time role based at St Mary’s Church (a small but growing family church) and Veracity Life (their pioneering community project) within the Parish of Sholing.

The Parish of Sholing are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic person, who loves Jesus and loves people, to head up their youth/children’s work – including around 80% community-based work and 20% faith-focussed work. The ideal applicant will have experience working with children and young people, supporting people and teams to flourish, and nurturing faith among children and families. They’re looking for someone who can support their incredible volunteers to deliver exciting youth and children’s provision, and to co-design and develop new projects with the community. The parish is hoping to find someone who can start as soon as possible.

The successful applicant will be offered significant autonomy within a collaborative team, opportunities for ongoing training and development, some flexible working hours, and more. You will be supported in this role by the Vicar and the parish’s warm and supportive leadership team. They are willing to shape the role around the right person (to some extent), so do get in touch if you’d like to chat about your application.

The deadline for applications is midnight on Sunday 9 February – with interviews on Wednesday 26 February. You can find out more about the Parish of Sholing and about the role here.
