The Diocese of Winchester and Hazelnut Community are excited to announce a new collaboration to support parishes in caring for and worshiping in creation.
Hazelnut Community (Hazelnut Community) is a network of Churches running community gardens and farms. These spaces offer an opportunity to deepen worship, welcome their community and engage with creation care. They offer resources, training and support for churches to setup and run these communities, helping parishes to run sessions in creation and to care for their land.
In the Diocese of Winchester we see caring for creation as an opportunity for our mission; offering a chance to welcome and invite our local communities onto church ground play our part in God’s vocation to care for his world. This collaboration is one way we’re supporting parishes to engage with this opportunity.
As part of the collaboration parishes will be able to join the Hazelnut Community Network for a subsidised rate of £10 a month. Joining the network will enable access to their resources (including service/session outlines with activities), training and support. In future we’re also looking forward to hosting Diocesan training to support parishes with setting up and running these communities.
We’ll be hosting a Zoom call on Wednesday 15th January at 7pm, to share more information about Hazelnut Community and to answer any questions. To register for the call, click here: https://us06web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZUud–vpjgvGdPoM56hU1afMG4etj-Kyfj2
