Online Portals

Which Portal and for What?

‘Why are there so many portals’ I hear you cry! Please see below for the main portals and the uses of each one.

Online Directory

Clergy, LLMs, churchwardens and parish administrators hold public roles. Therefore, it is customary for contact details to be published in the online diocesan directory. PTOs (permission to officiate) also appear in the directory if they have given us permission to do so. Contact details are held on this database which is kept by the Winchester Diocesan Board of Finance (please refer to the privacy notice on our website). This online directory is available only to those who appear in it. It is not available for commercial purposes and can be used only in a church context. Contact information from the directory must not be passed on or downloaded.

Parish Portal

The portal can be used for a number of things, including updating parish information, updating parish officers, completing the yearly PIF (Parish Information Form) and inputting electoral roll figures. In terms of finance, you can also upload quarterly/monthly parochial fee forms as well as your annual report and financial statement. Other features of the portal include annual CoW submission, viewing your CMF submission, resources for deanery officers, useful links and a FAQ page.

Statistics for Mission

The parish returns portal was created and is managed by the national church. It is set up to receive the annual Statistics for Mission.  The idea behind the system is that you, as a parish officer, can input the parish data directly into a common database and have immediate access to a wealth of data showing how your parish has progressed over time. As soon as the data is entered at parish level the statistics become available at diocesan and national church level to help plan resource allocation.
