Youth Worker / Project Lead – The King’s Arms

The King’s Arms are looking for an adaptable team member to be based mainly in Alton who is passionate about supporting young people in a variety of youth work roles such as:

  • Working with young people on the edge of exclusion and struggling with school
  • Supporting those in need of mental health and wellbeing support
  • Flexing your skills at our drop-in After School and holiday activities
  • Working with young people with additional needs, Autism and Down Syndrome
  • Supporting young people caring for a member of their family
  • Offering 1:1 mentoring and group mentoring programmes
  • Supporting Christian young people on their Faith journey

Starting at 28 hours per week and aiming for 37 hours per week by September 2024 – you’re invited to discuss this. Salary £26,000 FTE depending on experience.

The King’s Arms are looking for someone who takes responsibility, is flexible and has a strong team spirit. You will have the enthusiasm to be involved in the planning and delivery of an exciting and varied programme of activities, but also have the ability to be a listening ear and mentor for young people when required. You will have at least two years’ experience of working with young people and co-ordinating projects.

The deadline for applications is Wednesday 21 February at 5pm. Interviews will take place on Monday 26 February.  The Kings Arms is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment and to support its organisational goals and ethos.  This post requires an enhanced DBS and has a genuine occupational requirement for a Christian.
