Accessibility is something that churches often have to consider, as a church is a space where we want everyone to be welcome. This is something that All Saints Church, North Baddesley, have been working to improve – on Sunday 23 February, All Saints Church were thrilled to be able to celebrate the opening of their new kitchen and meeting room, together with a step-free access to the accessible toilets in the building.
Cllr Alan Dowden cut the ribbon, and everyone enjoyed a piece of cake and lifted a glass to celebrate the completion of the building work.

Originally, this church was a small chapel built in the 1950s and in the 1960s. A large church was built alongside it, and since then it has undergone many improvements to make it more accessible and useful to the community.
We are very grateful to Test Valley Borough Council for grants which has enabled these improvements to take place and look forward to more people taking advantage of the new facilities within the building.

All Saints Church is situated in the heart of the community, and it is extremely well used as it now houses the community library. There are also many weekly events such as Sunshine Saints (baby and toddler group) Digital Hub (for those struggling with using their laptops and phones) and a Warm Space.

Wider community events are also organised, such as Craft Markets and a Folk Band – it is therefore essential that the building is welcoming and practicable to all.
The event also gave an opportunity to give grateful thanks to Mrs Pam Morffew for the amazing achievement of 40 years as Treasurer to North Baddesley PCC – she was presented with a voucher and flowers.
