In Pictures: Coronation Celebrations Around the Diocese

Our parishes pulled out all the stops to celebrate King Charles III’s Coronation over the weekend, organising services and screenings and parties and picnics to serve and bless their communities. Thank you to everyone for the huge efforts and congratulations on so many wonderful events! Here are some more pictures we’ve captured from around our diocese…

Winchester Cathedral also commissioned a new set of green and gold banners featuring images of the King representing the His Majesty’s interests in the environment, young people, the Church, interfaith matters, architecture, family, and the military:

At St Leonard’s in Sherfield on Loddon, over 100 parishioners and locals took part in a community walk around the four churches in the Benefice on bank holiday Monday. Starting with breakfast, the walkers could choose whether to walk the full 12-mile route, or just do sections. The highlight was walking through the Duke of Wellington’s private estate (with his kind permission, of course!). Having watched the Duke carry the Queen’s crown at the Coronation, it was fitting to be walking through his beautiful estate a few days later. The rain held off and the walkers were rewarded with a BBQ and more cake at St James’ Church.

THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN TO EVERYONE IN THE DIOCESE!
