Resource Churches Start 2024 with Confirmations and Adult Baptisms

What an encouragement to see so many people confirmed and baptised by full immersion at three of our Resource Churches last weekend! Confirmation and baptism are two important acts of commitment in the life of a Christian when we make promised to follow Jesus, in the presence of our church community as well as friends and family. The photos below demonstrate some of the joy, love and fellowship at the heart of these important services in church life…

Confirmation Service at Basingstoke Church

Bishop David was welcomed at Basingstoke Church last Sunday 4 February where he confirmed 16 people, including several young people.

One couple who were confirmed, John and Amy, described how they “stepped into the church at Christmas 2022 expecting nothing more than to sing some carols. But instead something happened and it changed our lives. We’ve been on a journey – just over a year coming to Basingstoke Church and church has become a part of us. We were facing some darker times but Jesus was the light that shone that brought us out of that. It was almost like back at that Christmas he knew we would need him that year.”

Another couple, Tanya and Joseph, gave a testimony of how they were doing “a lot of partying, drug taking and drug selling” but now they have encountered church and faith in Jesus Christ they will “never look back”.

Baptisms at St Mary’s Andover

Four people were baptised for the first time by full immersion in water at St Mary’s Andover, while two others reaffirmed their baptismal vows! “It was such an incredible atmosphere in church as we heard testimonies of God’s faithfulness and meeting them through joy, wonder, intrigue and grace. Praise God!”

Baptisms at LoveChurch Bournemouth

LoveChurch, Bournemouth, had a phenomenal time on Sunday 28 January celebrating the baptism and reaffirmation of baptismal vows (made on their behalf as infants) of ten people. “We’re praying for them as they enter the next season of their faith,” said the team.
