As part of the Church of England’s commitment to achieving Net Zero by 2030 the following document has been provided to encourage parishes to look at what can be done to their church buildings and what they can do to help. We encourage early engagement with the DAC staff team, to have a discussion or to assist you in this.

Some works fall under Additional Matters Orders. These are items specified by the Chancellor, and may be undertaken without a faculty. They still need approval by the archdeacon, much in the same way as the List B applications are determined.

If you’re looking to place a memorial stone in a churchyard, or repair or alter an existing memorial, the regulations regarding this can be found here. An application form for a memorial in a churchyard can be downloaded here.
To support you in the process of applying for works you are looking to undertake on trees within the Churchyard, and the information that would be expected in a submission to the DAC, guidance can be found here.
